A Lasting Legacy
The first fully funded endowed scholarship was established in memory of Bobby Dodd and Sam King, creating a permanent legacy that will benefit Rabun County students for generations.

In April of 2021, my oldest brother Caleb lost his life unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident on his way to ROTC lab at Clemson. Caleb was my best friend. He encouraged me to run cross-country, and he and my brother Caden taught me how to fish and hunt. Just four months later, my dad became sick and passed away at 49 years old. Together, my mom and I learned how to hang shelves, fix flat tires, build things, and so much more.
Their losses taught me more than a classroom ever could. I learned to have a steadfast faith in the LORD. I have learned determination; every step I take is to make them proud. I have learned to seize every moment, and to become a light in others’ lives, as Caleb was.
My dad was the main provider for our family. Now, the only provider is my mom. This scholarship has greatly eased the burden on my mom and me when it comes to paying for my college. I will forever be grateful.
