Stuff You Need to Know
The following are general guidelines to how and why on the nuts and bolts of LBCA Communications.
- We try not to send our members more than one email a week.
- Sometimes, during busy weeks of the season, they will receive two, but we aim to keep those weeks rare.
- Emails should always be personalized in the subject line and salutation.
- We only email our members concerning LBCA news and events. We do not email them about other happenings or events for other Rabun County nonprofits or opportunities. It is not that these aren’t important, but because we value our members and their privacy. When we send them an email, we want them to engage with it and know it is important. We will post those other events on our social where our members can decide to view them.
Social
- During the season, we post six plus times a week on social, sometimes multiple times a day–depending on which events are happening on the lake.
- During the off-season, we post two to four times a week.
- We try to post on all major holidays.
- We will share other Rabun County nonprofit posts if asked.
Texting
- Any non-emergency message will be sent between 8:00 a.m. and 9 p.m.
- LBCA may text the entire membership or a subset of the membership.
- Members can opt-out of receiving all text messaging from the LBCA.
- Members can choose to receive only emergency text messages only.
- LBCA strives to only use texting in ways that will assist our members.
- Most texts are limited to 160 characters.
- Texts must include “LBCA” (4 characters) within the text. Otherwise, it may not be clear who the sender is.
- The communications committee schedules and sends all texts to ensure proper use.
