Reminder from Georgia Power: If you decided to install swim buoys this season, please make plans to tie them off to the inside of your dock or remove them from the lake, if you still need to do so.
Why has the lake drawdown schedule changed this year? Generators at Lake Seed and Lake Burton are being replaced, and the water flow through the dams will be disrupted during the winter.
What is the construction along Burton Dam Road? The Nacoochee Dam at Lake Seed constructed a new power substation. As part of this project, Georgia Power is replacing overhead transmission lines from Burton Dam with underground lines for the new power substation. The work is scheduled to be completed in December 2025.
