Livin' Large is the one of the strongest variety/party/dance bands available anywhere. Based out of Atlanta, GA, our members have worked nationally and internationally with some of the music industry's most illustrious names (Elton John, Toni Braxton, Cee-Lo Green, Train, Philip Bailey of Earth Wind & Fire, and Celine Dion to name a few). This is one of those rare acts where every performer is as talented and captivating as the next; a true ensemble. The show is developed, tight and polished.

Being born a "natural" singer, and finely tuned with early musical training, Betty is a very powerful and versatile vocalist, as well as a fine all-around musician. Atlanta Swing Band

Atlanta Swing Band Map

Saturday, August 7 | The Atlanta Swing Orchestra | Swing Dancing@LaPrade's

The Atlanta Swing Orchestra originally started from a group of musicians in the Atlanta Lawyers Orchestra who decided that they wanted to play swing band music. The jazz band was known as "Frivolous Motion" which is a well known legal term for time wasting endeavor.

‚ÄčAs time went on, the lawyers became fewer and musicians from many other professions joined the swing band. The motion has become less frivolous and it was decided to pursue forming a professional dance band in the tradition of the great swing bands of the forties and fifties. While they all understand  it is unlikely to become a lifelong vocation, the goal is to play the big band American song book and do it well enough to continue this great tradition into the new millennium.

Hear their sound

For an extra special evening, there will be swing dancing at LaPrade's or on your pontoon boat, you do you!
