Welcome to 2020 and Lake Burton's Centennial Celebrations

Memorial Day will be here soon, and the centennial events we have been planning will begin in earnest.  Planning for these events is occurring weekly this winter by your board and centennial volunteers.

Our fundraising to support these activities also continues.  Many members have donated and become Centennial Member Sponsors.  This program is the backbone of our ability to make all this happen.  See the list of sponsors  here:  Centennial Member Sponsors.  The LBCA board is fully committed to this fundraiser with its efforts and donations.  Every board member is a Centennial Member Sponsor.  Join this group with a donation from you or your family.  The minimum donation is only $100 to become a sponsor.  Certain donation levels receive benefits.

These donations don’t just help us fund the 2020 centennial activities, they help support our volunteer fire departments and other local charities.  If successful in our efforts, we will also grow the capital resources of the LBCA for potential future needs.  Visit our Centennial Member Sponsor page to become a sponsor . . . or download and print this card that can be returned with your check:  2020 Centennial Donation Card

Below you will see the status of our centennial events and projects.  Some centennial projects have already occurred.

  • Our new and refreshed LBCA logo was just introduced.

  • The centennial history book of Lake Burton by our own Michael Maffett continues to receive preorders and is expected to arrive late April.

  • The LBCA Tour of Homes committee has five homes to view for the June event.

  • Big Red is here and getting ready for its debut.  It was purchased with 100% donor designated funds.  Follow this link for more information:  Big Red

  • The Lake Burton Wooden Boat Parade & Show has a big lineup of classic wooden boats participating on May 24th.

  • A new centennial LBCA flag has been ordered and it, along with other merchandise, will be on sale to the membership in the spring.

  • The 29th Annual LBCA Golf Tournament will be played this year at the newly renovated Waterfall Club.

  • The Centennial Burton Bash, our marquee centennial event will be held at Camp High Harbour on August 22nd.  Mark your calendar and become a Centennial Member Sponsor ensuring yourself a ticket to this event.

This special centennial year has energized your board and volunteers.  We have a new look, new plans, new energy and a new focus on making the lake community a better place for years to come.
