Since taking over the fundraising for the long standing scholarship efforts of the lake community, the LBCA Foundation has raised the amount of money we are able to give to assist students, many of which who would not be able to attend college without your help, from $19,000 in 2015 to over $74,000 in the spring of 2019!

But we can do so much more!  There are three ways to give:

First, an Annual Gift supports the ongoing efforts to enable students to cover costs associated with the first or early years of his or her education.

These Annual Gift Contribution levels are:

  • Clean Water:     $150 or more
  • Boater Safety:     $300 or more
  • Tallulah Watershed:     $500 or more
  • Mountains & Lakes:     $1,000 or more
  • Burton Gives Back:     $1,250 or more

The second way to give is through a Named Memorial Scholarship in honor of a loved one or someone you would like to honor for their service or friendship.  These bequests would typically start with a minimum commitment of $5,000 and would be funded 50% before the award is made and then the remainder in 25% installments the next two years.

The third, and most effective, long term gifting is to establish an Endowed Perpetual Scholarship.  The LBCA Foundation has established a partnership with the North Georgia Community Foundation, (NGCF) who would invest the funds in the endowment, and track and report to you the students progress each year!  The endowment is payable to NGCF up front in a lump sum and can be added to with additional endowment funds in subsequent years.  This Endowed Scholarship has a minimum funding requirement of $25,000, which would pay out approximately $1,250 per year to the student recipient.  After the first recipient has completed his education, the payouts from the endowment would be transferable to another student for a minimum four-year period as long as they stay in good standing with their academic institution.

Please consider joining your Lake Burton friends and neighbors in supporting these worthy students by contributing in one or more levels above who are in such need of your help!

For your convenience, you may make your tax deductible contribution here by selecting one of the contribution levels at right.  Feel free to add multiple contributions to your shopping cart to give other amounts.
